Since its inception in 1995, the AWC Scholarship Program has supported close to 6,000 students across rural Thailand through this sponsor-driven program. Our mission is to advance the educational knowledge of disadvantaged female Thai high school students by providing supplemental financial assistance. 
We also partner with the students by providing encouragement to develop English language skills to further their educational opportunities.
About the Scholarship Program:
The Scholarship program is led by inspired volunteers within AWC. Supporting the Scholarship Program is a chance to contribute and help education development in Thai society, targeting the young women who are from the poor family background and who have good academic performance. The support encourages these young women to continue and complete their education at least in the high school level. The Scholarship program’s work includes:
• Sponsorship Drive and donor communications
• English camp and School visits
• Annual Art & essay contest
Sponsorship Drive:
Our annual Sponsorship drive kicks off in December each year. We release our annual Newsletter to inform Sponsors about our efforts and highlights of the year. This year our annual newsletter will be sent electronically via email for the first time! Each Sponsorship is 6,000 baht or US$200. We offer gift sponsorships and various payment methods in both currencies as detailed on our payment information page. For Thailand tax payers, EDF (as a registered, tax-exempt organization in Thailand) can provide our donors with tax deduction receipts. Scholarships and Awards:
The Scholarship Program awards a total over 1.8 million baht annually in scholarships to just under 400 students in 41 targeted schools across rural Thailand. Eligibility criteria is for young women in grades 10-12 (M4-M6), good academic performance (> 2.5GPA), a low family income, good behavior and a commitment to education while building a sustainable community. Each student is awarded 5,000 baht (US$165) per year for school-related expenses their families often cannot afford.
