What is our Mission?
To help under privileged female Thai high school students complete their education by providing supplemental financial assistance. We also encourage them to develop English language skills and to seek further educational opportunities.
Why is it necessary to sponsor a student?
Even though Thai schools no longer charge tuition, schools still charge some fees and students incur costs for lunch, uniforms, school supplies and transportation. These expenses add up to about 6,000 baht per year. Since rice farmers usually net less than 25,000 baht (US$700) per year, many families cannot afford to pay these costs.
What is the Scholarship Program?
Since 1995, the AWC Scholarship Program has supported over 350 students each academic year across rural Thailand. Scholarships of 6,000 baht per year are raised through this sponsor-driven program.
If you are interested in supporting the Scholarship Program, please contact us here, or email us at scholars@awcthailand.org.
