sm flyerThe Community Projects Committee is excited to announce its annual charity luncheon. We have planned the perfect setting for guests to dress up and enjoy a wonderful lunch in an elegant setting and support a very deserving Thai charity at the same time. Sound like an exciting idea?

Our speaker is Adrienne Blomberg, Siam-Care Foundation’s Director. Originally from Holland, Adrienne arrived in Thailand in 1984 to help Cambodian refugees. While working in the refugee camp she met her husband, a Thai national. In 1991, in response to the growing number of HIV-affected pregnant women in Thailand, Adrienne and her family moved to Bangkok and started a
home-based care project for women and children—what is today Siam-Care Foundation. She is a dynamic speaker you will want to hear. For more information about Siam-Care foundation, visit their Web site, www.siamcare.org.

Help make this luncheon a success on behalf of Siam-Care…and fun for attendees!

  • Buy raffle tickets for prizes such as vouchers for lunch or tea and scones at the British Club.

Community Projects has a special silent auction item for this year’s luncheon! The highest bidder gets to have her portrait painted by Vietnamese artist Hugh Tran. This donation of Hugh’s time and talent is valued at 40,000 baht,
so we will set the opening bid at 20,000.

The artist was born in Hanoi and studied under the famous Vietnamese artist Nguyen Van Nghi in Hanoi. Hugh Tran specializes in big-sized Pop Art paintings in acrylic or oil on canvas. A sample painting shown with the artist (right) is hanging at the Clubhouse. We invite you to come by and see in person how stunning his work is. If you desire this painting, it can be yours for 60,000 baht. (Talk to Rosa Luz) Proceeds will support AWC charities.

Members are encouraged to invite your friends and colleagues to support our efforts. Please plan to join us!

Deadline to sign up online and pay at the office is Friday, September 17th.
