This month's luncheon will be held in the ballroom of The British Club, originally established in 1903. Described as “an Oasis in the heart of Bangkok”, The British Club Bangkok is a family, sports, and social members club situated on Surawongse Road. AWC Members will have the opportunity to dine on traditional English favorites, socialize, take care of club business and listen to a stimulating talk by well-known author Alex Kerr in the historic atmosphere.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER:
Alex Kerr (born 1952) is an American writer and Japanologist.  An expert on Japanese culture and art, Kerr studied Japanese Studies at Yale University and Chinese Studies at Oxford University as a Rhodes scholar. Alex first visited Bangkok in the '70s and now spends half his time living here. His evocative and incisive novel, Bangkok Found, "looks deep within traditional culture to discover how Bangkok is like no other contemporary city. It's the book you read after you've seen the temples and enjoyed the nightlifeundefinedand then start to wonder where the mysterious appeal of Bangkok really lies."
