It is done! The AWC Clubhouse and Thrift Shop have now been closed. Although we have ended a long era of the American Women's Club having a clubhouse for our members (since 1969!), the Board is pleased to have simplified the club structure and resource commitments going forward.
Everything that AWC has to offer—Activities & Lunches, Membership Gatherings, Scholarship Program, Newsletter & Interest Groups (Casual Connections, Mahjong, Movie Club, LNO)—will continue to function as before, just with one different way to pay in person: Cash payments will be accepted on Monday mornings (10-11:30am) at Casual Connections. We meet in The Living Room in the Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit, BTS Asoke. It is also possible to pay at AWC activities and lunches when a representative will be available to collect payments.
You may continue to use PayPal, domestic bank transfers or credit card payments as well. We try to offer payment options that allow our members flexibility when joining, renewing or paying for activities, lunches and the like. Please review all the payment options on this page of our website.
AWC's new mailing address will be at Mint Worklounge, a coworking office space located in Thonglor, Sukhumvit 55 (see full mailing address below). We will no longer have a telephone number, but all the AWC email addresses will continue. And we have begun the process of updating our address with the district offices.
I would like to thank the entire Board of Directors, the Relocation Committee, the Thrift Shop volunteers, and our office administrator, Khun Benj, for all their help during the closeout process. It was a big task!
Huge thanks also go to member Hui Tamaporn for generously allowing us to store necessary supplies and documents at her shop, Yesterday Once Again.
In closing, I look forward to seeing you at a future AWC activity or gathering before I depart for my next expat adventure in Japan mid-June.

In November 2017, the Board voted to not renew the lease for the AWC Clubhouse as of April 30, 2018. A Relocation Committee is in place to create a plan on how AWC will maintain its status as a registered Club in Thailand (an address is required to fulfill the requirements with the Thai government); how and when to sell AWC possessions; what will be the plan for storage of essential items and more. If you have time and would like to support this effort in any way, please contact Joette at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The AWC owns many, many items that have been purchased over the years or donated by members to give the Clubhouse its homey feel. Plans for disposing of AWC possessions are...
|AWC Silent Auction
Feb 12: The auction was a success! Some items remain available and we need to dispose of all AWC possessions.
Feb 1: We have chosen a few special items that are available to AWC members only via the Silent Auction. Minimum bids have been set. We hope you find something appealing and will email your bids for whatever you're interested in. The auction runs from Feb 1st through Feb 9th.
